Days 80–83: The 70-Song Milestone and the Open Road
As we cross into late March, the sheer volume of the catalog is starting to take shape. This week has been about maintenance, milestones, and preparing for a much-needed change of scenery.
The Reality of "Song-A-Day"
I’ve officially hit Song 70. I want to reiterate—to myself as much as anyone else—that the "song-a-day" commitment isn't about producing 365 perfect, radio-ready masterpieces. It’s about the discipline of the craft. Some days it’s a full composition; other days it’s just a lyric or a musical bed that isn't quite finished. Since these are Songwriter Demos, I’m comfortable releasing them as they are.
The beauty of a demo is that artists and publishers have the room to adapt and evolve the lyrics to fit their own vision.
Catalog Expansion: 40 Songs Deep
With the Raised By Wolves demo wrapped and another batch of writing behind me, I’ve been listening back through The 2026 Songbook, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.
Both volumes are now complete, adding 40 fully realized demos to the active catalog. Seeing that body of work sit alongside Dire Consequences (which is now officially re-uploaded and live) feels like a major shift in momentum.
Digital Housekeeping
With the Raised By Wolves demo dropping this Friday, I’ve been deep in the "admin" weeds. It’s easy to forget the secondary accounts like Bandsintown and other artist platforms, but they all needed the new neutral B&W aesthetic and the official release announcement.
The "office" side of being an independent artist never truly sleeps.
Heading South
I’m currently prepping for a road trip down to LA to visit family. We haven’t been out of the state or on a proper vacation in a while, and I’m genuinely looking forward to the drive.
There’s something about the open road between Portland and Los Angeles that usually sparks a different kind of creative energy.
