This time it’s different. Here’s why.
I want to throw a bucket of water in the listener’s face and say, “wake up.” That’s where I’m at with my music right now.
I grew up in a time when people put out an album that was a statement. A moment in time when things had to be written and talked about. It meant something. And it was powerful!
That’s where I’m at right now with the music I put out.
It has to hit me and mean something.
Like, we can’t be asleep at the wheel. We have to do what we feel deep in our soul. We can’t let these billionaires, news outlets, and slimey politicians run the country and treat us like we’re their slaves or be financially or spiritually in deep debt to them.
Personally, I can’t tell you how many recruiters, hiring managers, (and people in general), as I was trying to find just a “regular job,” completely dicked me around. They treated me like absolute garbage and so nonchalantly waisted my time and energy — dangling a carrot right in front of my face (sometimes for weeks on end) around thinking I got the job, but never did.
Before this, I was on track to be a Peer Wellness Specialist (look it up).
I wanted to help broken people, like I was.
Now?
I still do, but it’s on my own terms — with music and writing a well-thought-out song that hits people on a deeper, more emotional level. I guess, like I always have. But thankfully, now people are paying more attention to. ;)
